AFTERSCHOOL CLUBS AT ST MARY'S PORTSLADE
September 2020 - Autumn Term
From September 2020 the pick up times and activities for the PLAY after school clubs will be staying the same as last year. All sports and creative clubs will be finishing at 4.30pm with less specific activities and a childcare option continuing with later pick up times of 5pm and 5.30pm.
All clubs are fully inclusive for all children unless otherwise stated

Covid 19 Update
We will be limited to 30 children per day for the foreseeable future. The children will then be divided into bubbles of 15 based on Key Stages, this is to reduce the amount of mixing the children do. We will also be running a different timetable with activities in the individual bubbles rather than the usual PLAY timetable.
Pick up arrangements:
Pick up will still be at the main school entrance via the community centre car park, however parents will not be permitted to enter the school building. Please can parents wait outside the front door and we will send your child out to you. Please make sure you are social distancing during pick up times and that you minimise your time around the front door of the school.

Monday
Gymnastics - Gymnastics is a sport that contains all the essential elements of physical literacy and is an excellent asset in a childs physical development. We cover a whole range of gymnastics aspects from the basics to individual skills to group performances. We always try and use as much equipment and apparatus as possible to keep the sessions fun, exciting and different each week.
Cooking - Not only is cooking an essential life skill, it is also great fun for all ages! We try and keep the recipes we use as healthy as possible while making sure the food is also delicious and fun to make. We work in a nut free school and we try our best to cater to all major allergies so please let us know in advance of any allergies your children may have.
Tuesday
Multi Skills - This is a great chance to get active and have fun after school! We will be doing a massive range of activities from capture the flag to basketball to hockey to bench ball. There is always something for everyone to enjoy and take part in.
Clay - Clay club is a chance for your child to get creative and get messy! Each week we follow a different theme and try to sculpt and mold our clay as best we can. After the clay has dried it can either be taken home or left at school to paint and prettify the week after.
Wednesday
Dodgeball - Here for all children and guaranteed to put a smile on anyones face is Dodgeball club. This fast paced and intense game tests your agility, accuracy and nerve and is loved by everyone. We can’t wait to get going every Wednesday!
Hobby Craft Club - We know children like to get creative and messy! This club includes everything from craft and design to painting and paper craft, we try to make it as varied as possible. Often throughout the year we will contribute and make displays for the schools big events such as remembrance day, Easter and of course sports day. This club has something for every child to unleash their creative side.
Adventure Club - If you love the outdoors and being messy and creative then this is the club for you! We will be taking advantage of all of the great outdoor spaces available at Woodingdean Primary. We will be doing outdoor games, problem solving activities and group challenges and that is just for starters!
Thursday
Football - Football is the most popular sport in the world and it is hugely popular at Woodingdean Primary School! This club is for everyone. We will be looking at skill development, lots of game play and learning more about how to play the beautiful game!
Jewellery Club - Making and designing our own Jewellery has proven so popular, this year we are giving it it’s very own club! We can’t wait to see what amazing pieces the children are going to produce. Shine bright like a diamond!
Friday
Basketball - A hugely popular sport all over the world and we're bringing it to Woodingdean Primary School! Basketball is a great sport and we're really excited to see it on the timetable. This is a sport full of high paced action, teamwork and of course a time for individual flair.
Lego - Each week will have a different theme with children being able to create, discover and explore the world of lego. This is a great activity to get children thinking, creating and learning for themselves through play. It's also a great for children to be social and have a great time as well!

Should you have 2 or more children booked on for a session you will recieve a 10% sibling discount for the second child.

Adhoc sessions may be available every day, for every sesion and for all children. Please email woodingdean@plaype.co.uk for availability and wait for confirmation before leaving your child at PLAY.

HOW TO BOOK
Booking your child a place at the PLAY Woodingdean after school clubs is easy! You can do it in 2 ways, either by collecting a form from the school office and returning it or by the online booking form below.
PLEASE NOTE: Booking will be done on a priority basis. Parents wishing to book 1 or more children will hold highest priority followed by those wishing to book until 5.30 then 5 then 4.30.
